President-Elect's Report

ALA Ambassador Program
By: Jess Beyer, President-Elect
Calling all new members! I am pleased to share with you that the ALA Membership Development Committee has created an Ambassador Program. If you have been a member for less than two years, you are eligible to take advantage of this program. As a participant, you will learn all the ins and outs of your ALA membership. You will be assigned an Ambassador who will take you on an ALA journey. If you have been a member for less than two years, you should be receiving an email from ALA to opt into the program. If you feel you may have been overlooked, please email Teena Austin, Sr. Manager, Member Services [email protected], to express your interest in this opportunity.

Your New Member Orientation
By: Kevin Lawrence, VP of Membership
Hello WALA members! I hope you are all staying safe, healthy and sane during this strange and challenging time. As your new VP of Membership, I’d like to briefly introduce myself. I have served on the Board going on four years – three years as your Treasurer, and as your President Elect-Elect and VP of Membership since April of this year. I look forward to serving you all and getting to know each of you better.
While COVID-19 has tested our resourcefulness, both WALA and ALA are working hard to provide the education, resources, social connections and other benefits to which you are accustomed. WALA will be hosting a New Member Orientation via Zoom on June 17th from Noon to 1:00pm. Whether you are a new member, seasoned member or prospective member, I hope you will attend. For more information, or to register, click here: https://wi-ala.org/meetinginfo.php?id=121.
Once again, stay safe, healthy and sane.
